For a recital in honour of the great Mani Matter, Biel-based guitarist Roman Nowka has teamed up with two distinguished Swiss musicians, Lionel Friedli and Simon Gerber, to form the Hot 3 and to embark on a musical journey into new and uncharted soundscapes inspired by Matter. Songs like Ds Lotti or Chue am Waldrand are given a whole new charm as instrumental versions somewhere between jazz and rock. The lyrics of the Bernese chansonnier are brought to life by guest singer Stephan Eicher, who skilfully blends the poignant and luminous world of Matter with the electrifying charisma of a rock star.
